Street of Dreams

  • Street of Dreams - Picture 1

On 9 May 2010 the debut performance of Street of Dreams took place here at Manchester Arena, with the world premiere the following day.

The show celebrated the iconic characters and unforgettable storylines of Britain's best-loved soap, Coronation Street.

The show starred Paul O’Grady as the host, guiding the audience through momentous events in Corrie’s history. He was joined by past and present stars of the show, including Julie Goodyear as Bet Lynch, complete with her trademark beehive, big earrings and penchant for leopard-skin, Corrie favourite Kevin Kennedy as Curly Watts and Brian Capron who resurrected renowned serial killer Richard Hillman from the dead.

A Coronation Street musical would not be complete without the vivacious ‘tart with a heart’ Elsie Tanner, who was brought to live by both Kym Marsh as 1960s era Tanner and Jodie Prenger as the 1980s version of the iconic character.

Salford born singing sensation Russell Watson joined the cast as the star guest performer for the musical's epic finale.
