Back in 2008, Manchester Arena hosted the 9th FINA Swimming World Championships, which ran from 9th - 13th April.

The 25m pool was installed specially, transforming the Arena for the five day event.

17 new world records were made in 2008, as well as several European and Championship records.

The United States topped the medal table with 10 gold medals, but Great Britain took home the most medals overall.
